About the Totnes Festival

In the Top Ten of The World's Funkiest Towns according to British Airways' High Life Magazine, Totnes has something of a reputation!

The Totnes Festival is lead by a committee of local professionals who contribute to the festivals operation and development voluntarily.  The committee is currently looking to change the dates of the Festival from August and September to October and November.

The Festival is a celebration of the hugely diverse range of events and activities that go on in and around the town.  We still wish to maintain this objective, however we intend to more closely curate the Festival's programme of events to avoid clashes for audiences and to ensure high quality experiences and platforms for our town.

This will involve a fundraising drive, encouraging donations from local business as well as funding applications to trusts, councils, and funding bodies.

We welcome the involvement, support and enthusiasm from individuals, businesses and organisations - if you are interested in forming partnerships, sponsorships, or hands on support please get in touch.

In previous years the Festival Committee provide the coordination, marketing and publicity for the events to give all the people involved the best chance of being successful. The Festival was not funded by grants or not-for-profit and there was no central pot of cash held by the Committee to subsidise events.  The Festival Committee intend to develop a commissioning and bursary fund for the future through local sponsorship and other fundraising activities.

The Festival is a not-for-profit organisation. Any surplus money gets reinvested in future festivals.
